Foundation. Supporters, which include individuals, businesses and local
organizations, have been a vital part of providing outstanding educational
opportunities to students through such initiatives as scholarships and

| Headed by the leadership of the School Board of Manatee County,
as well as the School Advisory Councils (SAC) operating at each school, the
Manatee County School District stands as one of the largest educational
systems in Florida. With more than 5,000 highly skilled employees, the
district hails as the county’s largest employer and was the first recipient
in the state to be awarded with the Office of Program Policies and
Governmental Accountability Seal for Best Financial Management. The Manatee County School District serves
an enrollment of more than 41,000 pre-K through 12th grade students. The
students have access to 35 elementary schools, 10 middle schools, 7 high
schools and a nationally recognized technical education institute. The
Manatee District also oversees 10 charter schools. |
